I am thrilled to be apart of Weddings Unveiled Spring 2013 issue. Calder Clark Designs created a beautiful and preppy wedding for Emily and Wes. The green, navy and white color scheme was the perfect compliment to the natural setting at the gorgeous Fenwick Hall Plantation. Despite a little rainfall, I loved all the Sperry Tents! They have a wonderful whimsical shape to them that looked perfect in the landscape.
I am so pleased to share with you all today the latest issue of Weddings Unveiled magazine. They featured a beautiful wedding of mine thanks to the talented Tara Guérard Soirée. Tara turned Runnymede Plantation into an elegant destination for Katie and Paul’s October wedding. Katie and Paul were amazing clients to work with and I look forward to sharing with you all soon a few of my favorite photos from their engagement session. Enjoy and please be sure to check out the entire Spring issue of Weddings Unveiled.
What a gorgeous day it is here in Charleston! I could not be happier to see Emily and Sam’s beautiful wedding on the Wedding Row! Thank you Della for including this wedding on your lovely blog. Thank you also to Kristin Newman Designs and Gathering Floral and Event Design for turning Hibernian Hall into a beautiful Spring wonderland.

It’s official, the new Southern Living Weddings Magazine is out on newsstands. I have the great fortune to be represented in there for three of my weddings. This would not of been possible without all the wonderful talent behind the wedding designs and of course my beautiful couples. Thank you thank you to all!
I would like to send out a sincere thank you to all my 2011 clients it was an amazing year working with all of you. I wish for you all the best as you make your way through your first year of marriage. It’s a wild ride – one filled with lots of excitement, love, and laughter. I hope to see you all again sometime soon!
Happy New Year!
Here are some of my favorites….
This last group was taken at one of my close friend’s wedding – I was not the wedding photographer but could not resist taking a camera.
Last weekend I was up at my parent’s house with Neilson and we decided to go through some of my families old photos. We found some amazingly funny stuff like my brother dressed up as a West Side Story “shark” lounging on the diving board and flexing his barely there muscles or my 70’s styled Dad with his wild curly hair tucked into a classic Mickey Mouse hat and a leather (or could be pleather) jacket playing with hand puppets while I laughed on his lap. There were so many great images and I wanted to take them all but my father wasn’t quite ready to let any of them go. However, I did sneak one out of my mom. So here it is…my mom age 32 or 33 living in Germany. This was taken by my father who was a avid amateur photographer. I love this image so much!
I feel so lucky that today I can share with you all my cousin Kay’s engagement session taken up in Greenville, SC. Kay and Jonathan are to be married this Saturday and while I am not photographing her wedding, to her disliking, I did have the privileged of photographing her bridal portrait and engagement session.
While in a perfect world I would of been able to photograph her wedding and mingle with all my family and friends. The reality of it all is that wedding photography is my job and I take it very seriously which means I would have not been able to do both – photograph and mingle. When I am on a job I am completely visually focused and, you can ask any of my assistants, I even sometimes forget words. It’s quite a strange phenomenon I have to admit and my assistants are scrambling to read my mind on what I am asking for…whether it’s a flash, fill card, film….more on this another day.
Next week I will share with you all some selects from her bridal portrait.
Congratulations to Kay and Jonathan!
