I would like to send out a sincere thank you to all my 2011 clients it was an amazing year working with all of you. I wish for you all the best as you make your way through your first year of marriage. It’s a wild ride – one filled with lots of excitement, love, and laughter. I hope to see you all again sometime soon!

Here are some of my favorites….

This last group was taken at one of my close friend’s wedding – I was not the wedding photographer but could not resist taking a camera.

For Neilson, as you sail your way up to Georgetown for the wooden boat festival this weekend.

Last weekend I was up at my parent’s house with Neilson and we decided to go through some of my families old photos. We found some amazingly funny stuff like my brother dressed up as a West Side Story “shark” lounging on the diving board and flexing his barely there muscles or my 70’s styled Dad with his wild curly hair tucked into a classic Mickey Mouse hat and a leather (or could be pleather) jacket playing with hand puppets while I laughed on his lap. There were so many great images and I wanted to take them all but my father wasn’t quite ready to let any of them go. However, I did sneak one out of my mom. So here it is…my mom age 32 or 33 living in Germany. This was taken by my father who was a avid amateur photographer. I love this image so much!

I feel so lucky that today I can share with you all my cousin Kay’s engagement session taken up in Greenville, SC. Kay and Jonathan are to be married this Saturday and while I am not photographing her wedding, to her disliking, I did have the privileged of photographing her bridal portrait and engagement session.
While in a perfect world I would of been able to photograph her wedding and mingle with all my family and friends. The reality of it all is that wedding photography is my job and I take it very seriously which means I would have not been able to do both – photograph and mingle. When I am on a job I am completely visually focused and, you can ask any of my assistants, I even sometimes forget words. It’s quite a strange phenomenon I have to admit and my assistants are scrambling to read my mind on what I am asking for…whether it’s a flash, fill card, film….more on this another day.
Next week I will share with you all some selects from her bridal portrait.
Congratulations to Kay and Jonathan!
